Heading to Hoover’s Hometown Days?
Here are the basics to help you plan your visit!
Where can I find the schedule & map?
Find the most up-to-date schedule and maps here. Printed Event Guides are available at downtown businesses, Town Hall, the Fire Station, Visitor’s Center, and Saturday at the Event Info Tent.
What time is the parade?
The parade begins at 10:00 AM Saturday and follows the same route as previous years.
The parade will impact traffic flow through town from approximately 10:00–11:00 AM, so please plan accordingly.
Is the renovated Hoover Presidential Museum open?
YES! The newly reimagined Herbert Hoover Presidential Library & Museum is officially open following its Grand Re-Opening! Regular hours are 9:00 AM–5:00 PM. Admission is $5–$12 per person, and the completely renovated galleries offer an incredible new experience just steps from all the Hoover’s Hometown Days action.
What is the Freedom 250 Mobile Museum?
The Freedom 250 Mobile Museum is a traveling museum visiting communities across the country as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebration. The immersive “Freedom Truck” brings American history to life through exhibits celebrating our nation’s story. It’s FREE to visit and located in the parking lot of Village Green during the big weekend. Enjoy a tour 9am-7pm during Hoover's Hometown Days.
What FREE kids’ activities are happening?
Free family fun runs 10am-5pm Saturday! The parade kicks things off at 10 AM, followed by Bounce Houses until 5 PM and R/C Car Racing, Petting Zoo & Giant Bubbles until 3 PM. From Noon–3 PM, find FREE Face Painting, Caricatures & Balloon Twisting on North Downey Street. Check the full schedule for even more!
When are vendors open?
Vendors are on Main Street and on Downey Trace (in the Hoover National Historic Site) are Saturday only, opening after the parade at approximately 11:00 AM and closing at 4:00 PM.
Don’t forget our downtown shops! Local brick-and-mortar businesses are open throughout the day with even more to explore.
What food is available?
Come hungry! Downtown restaurants and eateries will be serving throughout the day.
Vendors close at 4:00 PM, but ALL downtown restaurants will continue offering quick-service food options in addition to their full menus inside. Grab dinner and stick around for the evening Hoover-Ball action!
When & where is the Army vs. Navy Hoover-Ball game?
The special Army vs. Navy Hoover-Ball Exhibition Game begins at 5:30 PM Saturday on Village Green, across from the Fire Station. The Hoover-Ball National Championship finals follow at 6:00 PM.
Where can I cool down?
Need a break from the summer heat? Head inside Town Hall for A/C and cold water in our Cool Down Area.
Where are restrooms?
Restrooms are available at downtown eateries, the Visitor’s Center and Town Hall.
Port-o-johns are located at the Fire Station Beer Garden, Village Green, Town Hall and North Downey Street. Changing tables are available at the Visitor’s Center and Town Hall.
Where should I park?
Free parking is available on side streets, in small public lots near downtown, and in nearby lots marked for special event parking. ADA parking is available at the NPS Visitor’s Center. Courtesy golf-cart shuttles will be running all day on Saturday to assist.
Where is the Event Info Tent?
Find the Event Info Tent on East Main Street near Town Hall on Saturday from 10:00 AM–6:00 PM. Stop by for Event Guides, schedules, maps, directions and general event help.
Where can I buy an official T-shirt?
Official “History’s Hottest Block Party” Hoover’s Hometown Days and Hoover-Ball T-shirts will be available Saturday at the Event Info Tent. $20 each, Cash or Venmo only, While supplies last.
Are there fireworks?
No, there are no fireworks at Hoover’s Hometown Days. Instead, enjoy a FULL day of free family fun Saturday, from the 10:00 AM parade through kids’ activities, entertainment, food, shopping, history and evening Hoover-Ball!

Make a day of it! Historic downtown West Branch, the Herbert Hoover National Historic Site and the newly reimagined Herbert Hoover Presidential Library & Museum are all just steps apart. Come for Hoover’s Hometown Days. Stay to Eat, Shop & Explore West Branch!
